Overview

Plymouth Triathlon returns to Mount Edgcumbe for 2027. Entries open 1st September

We’ll be working closely with Plymouth Tri Club & the team at Mount Edgecumbe to deliver a fantastic event at an amazing venue that’s just a short ferry ride from the centre of Plymouth.

The sea swim is sheltered with land on both sides. The tough bike is on rolling roads but with some stunning sea views along the way. The final traffic free runs, based on a 5K lap, are within the grounds of Mount Edgcumbe & include some great coast path.

Also returning for 2026 is the Rame Head Race. These trail running races take place the day before the Swims & Triathlons

Parking & Accommodation

There is plenty of paid for parking within easy reach of event HQ. £5 which you can pay when entering the event or pay on the day.
By Ferry, We are working with the Plymouth Boat Trips company to provide a short ferry ride to the race site from Plymouth. The trip across the water takes just 8 minutes and an early service at 5.45am will be put on for Competitors, spectators and marshals to get across. More details to follow

Camping

We are offering camping in the grounds of Mount Edgcumbe for up to 3 nights, pre booking is advisable when entering the event.

Hotels & Other accommodation

There is plenty to choose from locally and our date is before the main holiday season.

Awards & Medals

There is a custom medal for all finishers.

In addition we have podium medals for the Top 3 overall in each of the following categories.

Sprint : Top 3 overall, Top 3 Seniors, Top 3 Vet 40, Vet 45, Vet 50, Vet 55, Vet 60 & Vet 65 – all will be awarded to three males & three females provided we have at least 6 per age category two weeks before the event. If less than six in a category the winner only will receive an award.
Tristars: Top 3 male & female in each cat.

Please note we operate a one prize per person policy. So if a vet is the overall winner they will get that medal & prize & the other Vet 40s will move up one place.

'It was a fantastic event. The sea swim was really enjoyable and the water was calm. The bike ride was hilly and really hard work, but rewarding with beautiful sea views. The run was also very hilly, but very rewarding . The scenery was lovely. The last 2km of the run was down hill all the way to the finish line, so you could really pick up some speed to impress your friends and family!'
