Also known as wild swimming, open water swimming is a truly liberating sport. Open water swimming was already popular before the pandemic. But with all the pools closed its popularity exploded. We organise a range of open water swimming events alongside our triathlons in Devon, south west England. With timing & water safety teams in place, we’re able to keep the cost reasonable. Most of our events are sea swimming events but we also have lake swims.
WHAT KIT DO I NEED?
Wetsuits are not compulsory. However if the water temperature is 14C or less we strongly recommend them. We also strongly recommend that anyone who does not swim ‘skins’ regularly in open water wears a wetsuit. We realise that experienced open water swimmers are able to swim ‘skins’ in colder temperatures and will allow you to do so.
